Using the Text of the NIV, The Story presents the Bible in a chronological, novel format. The church campaign was later pioneered by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee.
The Story – The Musical is a breathtaking new project that presents God’s redemptive plan for His people from Genesis to Revelation, and is based on the best-selling books by Lucado and Frazee and the artist recording by Bernie Herms and Nichole Nordeman. Featuring eight songs from the Dove Award-winning recording, The Story – The Musical has been superbly crafted by master arranger and orchestrator David Hamilton for church choirs and soloists. Deborah Craig-Claar has artfully used sequences from Scripture and Frazee and Lucado’s commentary to tell a seamless story from Eden’s garden to an empty tomb to the throne of heaven. The story is brought into vivid relief by the addition of an accompaniment DVD which features the original concert videos from the popular tour of The Story.
Although The Story – The Musical can be used year-round for every season and celebration on any church calendar, we have also offered an abbreviated 37-minute version that focuses on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, making the musical a perfect addition to any Lenten or Easter service. In the words of the original authors: “The Story tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time: the story of a true God who loves His children, who established for them a way of salvation, and provided a route to eternity; and this same God is alive and active today – still listening, still acting, still pouring out His grace on us.
